CATA Hall of Fame

The purpose of this award is to honor those outstanding Agricultural Educators who have dedicated their careers to establishing and upholding the beliefs and precepts of Agricultural Education for those that follow to emulate. This year we are pleased to announce that seven individuals have been chosen as inductees to the 2021 class of the CATA Hall of Fame.

 
 

Teacher of Excellence

In order to qualify for the Teacher of Excellence award, the applicant must have:

  1. Taught a minimum of 10 years in a secondary school or community college agricultural education program, or a combination thereof.

  2. Been a paid member of the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association for at least 10 years.

  3. Held at least one CATA sectional, regional, or state office.

  4. Be a current paid member of the CATA by the fall regional meeting of the year nominated.

We will be recognizing 10 Teacher of Excellence recipients.

Teacher Mentor

The purpose of this award is to encourage experienced teachers to come forward as mentors for beginning teachers in our profession in an effort to strengthen our profession throughout.

Outstanding Young Member

The purpose of this award is to encourage and recognize outstanding young agricultural education teachers for their participation and leadership in civic, community, agriculture/agribusiness, and professional activities.

Outstanding Agriculture Teacher // Don Wilson Memorial

The Outstanding Agriculture teacher award is also known as the Don Wilson Memorial Award. Words used to describe Mr. Wilson include tenacity, grit, passion, and unwavering persistence. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding agricultural education teachers who have taught at least 20 years for their participation and leadership in civic, community, agriculture/agribusiness, and professional activities.
