Come to this workshop to hear first hand from new teachers about their experiences with student teaching. This panel session will be moderated by Anthony Drumonde, Superior Region Supervisor.

Representatives from each of the universities will host this workshop to address the main differences, expectations, and outcomes of initial and final student teaching experiences.

Just as teaching someone to fish empowers them for a lifetime, this session aims to equip supervising teachers with techniques to encourage self-discovery and deeper understanding in their mentees. Reel in fresh ideas, share experiences, and leave with a tackle box full of mentoring strategies to support reflection within your mentee.

Modeling Excellence: Empowering Cooperating Teachers to Lead by Example

Workshop G will be presented in Rounds 3 and 4 in the Tahoe Shasta Room.

This workshop will emphasize the crucial role cooperating teachers play in modeling best practices for their student teachers, both in the classroom and beyond. We will cover strategies for effectively advising FFA, supervising SAE projects, collaborating with colleagues, administration, and parents, and engaging in professional development to set a strong example for future educators.

In this session, we will explore the essential needs of alternatively certified teachers to ensure their successful integration into our Agriculture Education community. This collaborative discussion aims to foster a supportive environment for alternatively certified educators, enhancing their skills and ensuring they have the tools necessary to thrive in their roles.
